The microparticles solution appears black because most of the light is absorbed and very little light is reflected. The Sebacia Microparticles are actually made from real elemental gold, but their size and shape cause the solution to absorb light and appear black.

Yes. Sebacia performed a controlled clinical trial to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of the Sebacia Treatment. Based upon this study, the FDA has cleared Sebacia Microparticles to be commercially sold in the USA. Sebacia Microparticles also have the CE Mark allowing them to be sold in Europe. Additionally, Sebacia is running a post-approval clinical study combining a pre-conditioning regimen (which gives better access to the pores and glands) with the Sebacia Acne Treatment and acne pharmaceuticals if desired. Current data shows average improvement of about 65% at 3 months, 74% improvement at 6 months, and 85% improvement at 12 months (Haedersdal, et al. IMCAS 2019; data on file at Sebacia; January 2019).
