Sebacia Microparticles only from SEBACIA

Available to US Dermatologists in 2019

The Sebacia Microparticle comprises of gold wrapped around a silica core. The particle was invented by Rice University researchers led by Naomi Halas, PhD with tissue applications further developed with Jennifer West, PhD (now at Duke University). SEBACIA worked with Dr. R. Rox Anderson, a pioneer in laser dermatology at the Wellman Center of Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital to study the integration of the use of the particle with laser systems already utilized by most dermatologists.

Sebacia Microparticles are indicated for use as an accessory to 1064 nm lasers to facilitate photothermal heating of sebacious glands for the treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory acne vulgaris.
